Introduction to MBS®

...and why relationships are so important...

We've heard from several of our clients that top management is increasingly prioritizing healthy relationships. This is often expressed in priorities such as well-being, psychological safety, collaboration, and more.

There is no doubt that the market has changed. As experienced consultants, we remember when well-being was considered a soft, fluffy topic and collaboration was just a teambuilding exercise in the woods.

Collaboration and relationships are no longer "just" a teambuilding exercise. They have become a strategic competitive parameter. And why is that?

Global competition, technological advancements, big data, trade barriers, and the demand for rapid and more complex changes mean that collaboration, personal integrity, and strong relationships are no longer "nice-to-have". They are a strategic necessity.

Especially in knowledge-intensive organizations, it is crucial that leaders can collaborate agilely and effectively. A lack of insight into our own biases and inappropriate patterns risks making us inflexible, which impacts collaboration, innovation, well-being, and results.

Generation Z also expects leaders who understand people, show empathy, and create a workplace with psychological safety. This requires leaders to dare to show both strength and authenticity and be able to set the stage for a culture where openness, honesty, and respect are natural elements of everyday life.

But how do you transform these soft concepts into concrete behavior?

From values on paper to strong relational skills in everyday life

At Mind Balance System, we help you translate collaboration, well-being, and mental health from strategic buzzwords into real action. The MBS method is based on a unique Relationship Analysis and a targeted video training program that develops the relational skills that create strong collaborations and better results through your leadership style.

By completing a Relationship Analysis, our certified MBS consultants can help leaders map out the needs that may hinder honest and open communication. Often, these needs are unconscious, but they can cause us to communicate or react in an unbalanced way, either by holding back our own thoughts and feelings or by being too aggressive, to the regret of ourselves and those around us.

By completing a Mind Balance Relationship Analysis, you will become aware of not only your behavior but also the unconscious needs that drive your behavior after your first session with a certified Mind Balance Consultant. This means you now have the opportunity to change the cause behind your behavior, making it easier for you to create lasting behavioral changes.

How the MBS® method works

The MBS® method combines the validated Relationship Analysis with a video-based training program. The purpose is to strengthen the leader's ability to create honest, authentic, and respectful relationships.

By integrating MBS into your organization, you get:

- Stronger leaders and employees – with greater insight into their own and others' behavior
- Better work culture – with higher engagement and psychological safety
- Increased innovation and efficiency – when relationships work, creativity and collaboration are strengthened
- Less stress and greater well-being – a work environment where people develop in interaction with each other.
- Relationships drive results.
When leaders and employees master the human dynamics, it not only creates better collaboration but also a better bottom line.

3 steps towards stronger collaboration

1️⃣ Start with an MBS Relationship Analysis – gain clarity about your behavior and what drives it in a specific situation.
2️⃣ Receive personal feedback – understand how you can strengthen collaboration
3️⃣ Get a tailored training plan – and, if relevant, implement concrete tools in your daily work from our video training program.

If these 3 steps make sense to you and you work in HR or as an external management consultant, you may be interested in becoming a certified MBS Consultant.

Together, we can create healthy relationships and create workplaces where people thrive  more.

Frequently asked questions

Our team consists of experts in leadership, personal development, and mental health with many years of experience.

How does MBS differ, for example, from the DISC tool?

DISC: Is based on William Marston's theory of behavioral patterns, where people are classified under four main preferences of behavior (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, Conscientiousness).

DISC focuses on general behavioral tendencies and how these can predict interactions.

MBS: Focuses more holistically on creating balance and wholeness in the individual's life and work. It emphasizes the importance of inner peace, awareness, mental health, and good relationships as the basis for efficiency and well-being in the workplace.

The relationship analysis at Mind Balance System also provides guidance for balanced behavior.

How does Mind Balance System ensure validity in its assessments?

The validation has taken place in collaboration with the German Gestalt Therapy Institute, Gestalt Institute Cologne & Kassel.

With a questionnaire consisting of 120 questions, the analysis is validated to consistently identify resources, unbalanced behavior, and unconscious behavior.

Who developed the MBS Relationship Analysis?

The Relationship Analysis was developed in collaboration between the German Gestalt Therapy Institute, Gestalt Institute Köln & Kassel.

Mind Balance System is a Danish-owned company that holds the global rights to the system.

How does the MBS Relationship Analysis differ from other profiling tools?

The Relationship Analysis helps leaders and employees identify specific breakdowns in internal communication and conflicts in their interactions.

This provides more situation-specific and targeted insight and training compared to many other profiling tools that focus on more general behavioral preferences.

The MBS video training program offers customized training courses based on the Relationship Analysis.

Participants receive personal guidance from trained MBS coaches who support and guide them through their development process. This personal engagement can help leaders and employees achieve more significant and lasting changes.

Video training and feedback

The MBS program includes access to online training videos, enabling employees to learn and develop at their own pace. This supports a flexible learning journey that is tailored to individual schedules and learning preferences.

Focus on working relationships and organizational health
The MBS program emphasizes strengthening working relationships and organizational health, which are crucial for a company's overall performance and competitiveness. By promoting a culture of trust, psychological safety, authenticity, and empathetic communication, companies can achieve better well-being, results, and lower employee turnover.
